Family Mini Session | September 2012 :: Emily, Edward and George won the FREE Mini Session prize from my Great Birthday Giveaway in August 2012. We met on a gorgeous early fall morning at historic Chatham Manor in Fredericksburg, VA for the photo shoot. We chose this location for the shoot because Emily and Edward had their post-wedding portraits taken here two years ago. Emily and I used to work at the Phillips Collection in Dupont Circle, Washington DC together, so this photo shoot was also a nice opportunity to reconnect after years of not seeing each other.
This was also my first time meeting Emily’s husband Edward and their adorable (almost 2 year old) George. The little one did a great job “leading the way” and I was able to capture each precious moment of George’s first professional photo shoot. He was very curious and wanted to play with the camera. He also made sure to stop and eat his cheerios along the route!
Sometimes, you are blessed with only the best: the weather warm and crisp, with a slight breeze and stunning details (such as the archway, picture above) to photograph. I must say that the early morning sunlight and quaint location put a smile on everyone’s face. Not to mention that we were the only ones there for most of the shoot and enjoyed a “private photo shoot” on the property...
This was one of my favorite portrait sessions to date and it was a pleasure to take pictures for Emily and her family! My very best to you all as George grows into a handsome, cheerio-loving little man!
