6 Months Portraits for Sam | Algonkian Park Spring Mini Session

5473_508049079232088_195935450_nSam just turned six months old! His favorite toy is Sophie the Giraffe Teether (a miracle toy, according to many moms I’ve talked to). This little trooper braved the wind at beautiful Algonkian Park to have his photos taken. It was a lovely day on the banks of the Potomac River, which provided a gorgeous backdrop of for our pictures. Since Sam couldn’t sit up yet, we took a bunch of “superman” style pictures with him propped on a blanket. It was his first time being so close to the grass, and of course, he had to get a taste of it… but not to worry, mom stopped him before anything green went into his mouth! We also tried some candid and posed family shots, in which little Sam enjoyed making faces.  It was evident, however, that his favorite pose was the one (pictured below) where he is “thrown up” into the sky by both mommy and daddy. Once that happened, the giggles never stopped…

2013-04-22_002Sam’s mommy is making a photo book for each milestone month in her son’s first year of life: birth, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. I think this is a very sweet idea and something all parents should do. The time goes by so quickly…
