to help YOU find the magic behind each passing moment.
Abby and her family came for our first fall mini session date in Old Town Alexandria. It had been raining cats and dogs all week long, so by the time Saturday rolled around, everyone held their breath to make sure the weather would cooperate. It turned out to be a cool, overcast day – the perfect condition for natural light photos! We took a walking tour of Old Town, which included a stop along the waterfront. Grandpa and Grandma also came for a visit and helped get little Abby to smile for the camera! However, it was obvious that Abby had the most fun running through the grass… getting her tights dirty… chasing Grandpa around… simply being a kid!
Running after Abby to get those last precious shots reminded me of Maria Montessori’s “follow the child” theory. These are important years in a child’s formation and its so important to observe the child and connect with them on a personal level, using their interests and ability as a guide! That’s the educator coming out in me! All in all, the photo shoot was tons of fun. Thank you, Abby and family for braving the weather and coming out!
