to help YOU find the magic behind each passing moment.
It’s hard to believe that *2013* is quickly coming to an end. The Winter Solstice took place today and it was a balmy 70 degrees. Christmas is in just a matter of days (will it be cold again?), the school year is half over and the holiday bustle is well underway. I didn’t get to blog about the first annual Christmas Tree Minis, which took place two weekends ago at Ticonderoga Farms in Chantilly/South Riding, VA, so I am enlightening you with my thoughts here.
It rained cats and dogs the day before and after the session, but was partly sunny and blustery the day OF the session. The grounds were still very muddy from the rains, and it was hard to emerge not looking like we just ran the Tough Mudder (a bit of an exaggeration, but still).
Ticonderoga Farms was the perfect setting for the Christmas Tree Minis. The excitement of choosing that perfect tree, the smell of the bonfire and the overall rustic setting right down the street from the busy Route 50 gave me a huge sense of nostalgia and made me want to be a kid all over again. Due to weather and last minute illnesses, a couple of families had to postpone their sessions, but I was grateful to have worked with 3 wonderful families (featured below) and helping them create portraits for their annual Christmas cards.
Below are some of my favorites from the session that day: (the second session at Snicker’s Gap was unfortunately cancelled due to the inclement weather)
Thank you to ALL the families who came out to celebrate their child’s first Christmas (at one year old and four months!!) and for helping to make this project into a success!
As 2013 draws to a close, Laurentina Photography will also be going on a mini hiatus to refresh, regroup and vision for the upcoming year. Feel free to stay connected via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest on my life happenings!!
**I thank you for your patronage and wish you joy and peace during this holiday season and beyond! See you in late January for the start of the 2014 photography season!!
